PREVIOUS COOK-OFF
We want to thank all of the wonderful people who contributed to the
tremendous success of the First Annual Three Forks Marketplace Chili
Cook-Off and Chili Supper to benefit New Leash on Life. We
couldn't have done it without each and every one of you. Our Chili
Cook-Off competitors were top notch and we were proud to see everyone
in good spirits even though the weather proved to be a little
"chillier" than most of us expected. Thanks for dressing up and/or
hamming it up!

Thanks to all of our sponsors - you helped make this event an incredible success!
Aabacus Entertainment provided the excellent tunes and kept us
entertained and informed throughout the event. Visionary
Design Group worked behind the scenes to organize and promote the
event. The Watertown Gazette and Lebanon Democrat gave us
great pre-event coverage. Blue Bell Ice Cream donated the ice
cream and Frito Lay provided Frito's for all of our
guests. Coca-Cola provided drinks and Watertown's own Kake
Haus Pastry Shop donated the amazing pot-of-chili cake AND the hugely
beautiful cake that we also served (while it
lasted). Spoil Me S'mo donated some of their
scrumptious all-natural dog treats, and Watertown's own Dead Man's
General Store gave us a great deal on those gorgeous T-Shirts and
Aprons. Pam & Bob Black, a couple of the organizers
for the Low Country Boil donated those beautiful mums that we sold for
$10 each - thanks a bunch for that. We'd also like
to thank John Jewell with the Watertown Fire Department for donating
the use of tables and chairs. And the biggest thanks goes to the
tireless volunteers from Watertown and New Leash on Life. We
appreciated all of your help before, during and after the event.
At first count, given by Natalie Corwin, Development Director at New
Leash on Life, the benefit raised approximately $2500 which is more
than we expected for a first year event. We are very pleased
with the turnout and are already taking notes for next year.
This was a first for us and we have a lot to learn. We have
received a few very helpful suggestions and a ton of compliments on the
event, so all in all, we think everyone enjoyed themselves
and we did it for a very good cause. We got blindsided on the
5-way tie and are already discussing ways to work through that
scenario; keeping in mind that this is a fundraiser and the idea is to
raise as much money as possible, but also making it a true
competition. We might have a judged competition as well as a
people's choice award.
If any of you would like to forward your comments or suggestions,
please feel free to email us at info@threeforksmarket.com.
